The Holt Scarecrow Trail is an annual event that takes place every August in the village of Holt, Wiltshire.

Visitors can follow a trail of imaginative scarecrows designed and created by local residents displayed throughout the village alongside refreshments hosted by community groups, the village churches, pubs and café. Come along and explore the village of Holt and enjoy the creativity of the community.

This years theme is FAMOUS DUOS- which could be people, food or drink! Most of our scarecrow entries are of the pair so expect to see 2 scarecrows at most locations, however some entries are just one of the pair.

CHILDREN’S TRAIL

In 2025, the Children’s Trail will once again run alongside the Main Trail. This years theme is 2X2, which will see pictures of animals dotted around the village, along with some extra little challenges!

The top prize for this years Children’s Trail has been kindly donated by Avon Farm Vets

This trail runs separate to the Main Trail with its own trail sheet. Families can take part in the Children’s Trail and the Main Trail at the same time if you choose to do so.

Those seeking added adventure can also enjoy our extra challenge to find a picture of Elliott, our cheerful scarecrow mascot, stationed alongside some of the “Main Trail” scarecrows. Each of these scarecrows will bear a letter, collectively spelling out a mystery word related to this years theme. Can you find them all?
